About My City Map

My City Map is a product of Vidar Networks, specialist in local area search. This websie is a non-profit, information resource. This website is made possible by both donations of and free software, hosting and development services from Google, Microsoft, Odin and Yahoo.

This website began as a test bed for Vidar Network technology (we still consider this website to be beta). The idea was to try to create a natural and intuitive website that offered easy access to robust local area information with a navigation based largely on the Microsoft Virtual Earth engine. The remaining elements of our interface are made possible through heavy use of the popular (and powerful) AJAX script.aculo.us and prototype javascript libraries.
